XP Home file corruption. How do i begin to address this issue?

Hello,
Recently i noticed that the "Help and Support" button on the start menu was no longer working. It gave me an error msg to start the service, but there is no "Help and Support" listed in services.
Any insight on where to begin resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

System: XP Home Version 2002 SP3
Computer: Dell Dimension 4550
Pentium 4 CPU 2.00GHz
1.99GHz, 2.00GB of RAM

To resolve the problem, Start the Help and Support Center service and set it to Automatic. Follow these steps:

Click Start, Run and type Services.msc

Double-click Help and Support

Set the Startup type to Automatic

Start the Service

If the Help and Support service is missing in the Services.msc listing, this may be due to accidental deletion of a registry key. Download helpsvc.zip file and unzip the contents. Extract helpsvc.reg to the Desktop and double-click to merge the contents to the registry. This restores the Help and Support service entry.

Hello Dashing_star, and i thank you for your time and your answer. I did apply your answer and the Help and Support service entry has been restored to the list of services. However, when i try to start the service i get this Error msg. "Could not start the Help and support service on local computer." "Error 1083: The executable program that this service is configured to run in does not implement the service." I can only hope that your answer for this error is as easy as your first!
