A few weeks ago there was a lightning storm and lightning struck a transformer killing our power. The next day I tried getting on my computer, but nothing was showing up on the screen. I troubleshooted everything I could and found that 2 HDMI ports on my TV were no longer working (one not at all, one with audio only). I tried connecting my computer to the TV with HDMI on a good port and nothing was working. I proceeded to unplug the cable from the graphics card and plug in to the integrated graphics and was able to get audio and video. Although everything was plugged into a surge protector and not a cheap one either, I still had this happen to me. Unfortunately I am no longer under warranty. It turns out that the 2 ports that quit working on the TV were the only 2 that had something plugged in and on at the time, the cable box and the computer. The HDMI port quit working on the cable box as well, though the coaxial still worked and I had to get it replaced. I have tried searching everywhere to see if there is a solution to my problem, but my searches have come up empty handed.

I know this is not a driver or BIOS issue as I have tried everything in that regard. The computer recognizes my card and shows that everything is fine with it. I can only assume that the card is just no longer good. I have not tried DVI-I/D because I do not have a cable for this and do not want to buy another component only to find out that it will not work (tried the displayport without any luck as well). I am currently using my R6770 that I had before as it is better than my integrated Intel graphics, but I would like to know if there is any possible way at all to fix my card before I spend money on a new one, which I will not be able to do for some time. I have games I cannot currently play as the card I am using now barely breaks minimum requirements if at all!

Thanks. Sorry it is long winded, i just tried to cover everything I could when posting.

I don't imagine there being any way to 'repair' that damage to the Graphics card. Sounds like you might have to get a new one. You did say that the integrated one works though?

Yes, the integrated works and PCI-E works fine. I am just trying to find out what the surge may have done to the card and if it is something that can replaced maybe. I know this is probably hopeless for me, but I am willing to try whatever I can. I mean, the card is no good anyway, not much worse can come of it if I were to try something to possibly help the situation.

Sounds like your GPU is fried, im not sure if there is a way to fix it other than a replacement :p
