good evening all.
I have an acer aspire 5742, i3-370m processor. it came with 4gb ram (2x2gb)
(o.s is windows 7 home premium in hdd and windows 7 ultimate in ssd,just for the note). i wanted to update ram to 8 gb but had a hellish time looking for the right one. The issue is that default ram was ddr3-10600(that's what was written on the memory sticker), when i bought 2x4gb of same kind system didn't boot, it recognized ram but I couldn't get to see desktop, it went on a rebooting loophole. after that i tried ddr3 pc3-12800, with same results. The guy at the computer shop couldn't find me a pc3-8500 1066...which is, i think, my last hope.
So basically my question is: anyone here has/had same laptop and upgraded memory to 8gb successfully?can you tell me which ram was correct?
i'm fairly upset since i wanted to upgrade memory since January.
