Why does my disk/computer keep failing?

I just installed a new EVGA GTX 970 SC in my computer. I optimized all my game's graphics settings via GeForce Experience. I started with Elite: Dangerous. Everything was going fine, then I opened Fraps to see the framerate (it stayed at 60 since i had vsync on) and record. At some point, i stopped recording then alt+tabbed out to see the recording, then everything began to create error messages, one saying something about a disk I/O error, then a blue screen. I replaced the cheapy SATA cable to my SSD to a higher quality cable and changed the SATA power to the SSD then opened Skyrim. Again, everything was fine until about 10 seconds after starting to record, then the game locked up, then I used ctrl+alt+del to close Skyrim, but all the windows I had were blank and looked broken, so my whole computer crashed again, so I pressed restart and tried the same thing again. Same thing: after about 10 seconds, the entire thing crashed along with the computer. Can anyone give me an idea on what's happening? Is it a power supply problem? Also, before I installed the 970, I had a 750 Ti and it never crashed my entire computer when I recorded with Fraps on the SSD. Also, I played Skyrim for about 5 or 10 minutes without Fraps open and there was no indication of a crash, so recording with Fraps has something to do with it. Here are my specs:

AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz processor
ASRock 980DE3/U3S3 motherboard
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SC
G.Skill Ripjaw X 8GB DDR3 1333 RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium
Corsair H80i liquid CPU cooler
Crucial MX100 512GB solid state drive
Kentek 750W power supply

Solution
Have you reinstalled Fraps? Could be an issue with the program itself. Completely delete all directories and then download/install again.

I think you're right because I also have Nvidia Shadowplay, so I tried recording with Nvidia Shadowplay in the same way as Fraps: the framerate indicator showing and recording at the same time. I recorded longer than I did with Fraps (I recorded for about 20 seconds with Shadowplay) and no crash happened, so it does sound like something with Fraps.
