AMD 8320 and ASUS m5a97. CPU temperature too high.

I was just wondering if any one gets these temps with the AMD 8320 CPU on this ASUS board because I'm not sure if it too high or just right, my idle temperature is 37°C. I'm using the Cooler master 212 and I always hear people saying this is a good cooler for low temps and overclocking but when I started overclocking I got temps up to 68°C while playing GTA V and Battlefield Hardline. I was told to keep the temps under 62°C and I don't now what the problem is, I have removed turbo in the bios settings and switch the CPU HPC and removed APM. I don't thing its the case because Im using a Sharkoon T9 case and I removed the plastic panel to prevent any more overheating.
Am I doing something wrong? Can someone please help?

Unfortunately the Hyper 212 should be called the Overhyped 212. Back in the day, it was a great affordable solution for overclocking quads. It's no where near what you need for the FX-8 core. Once you turn off the power saving features and start raising the clocks they become a burning mess.

Edit: I just noticed your motherboard and PSU. That's a scary combination for overclocking. Good luck with that.

Unfortunately the Hyper 212 should be called the Overhyped 212. Back in the day, it was a great affordable solution for overclocking quads. It's no where near what you need for the FX-8 core. Once you turn off the power saving features and start raising the clocks they become a burning mess.

Edit: I just noticed your motherboard and PSU. That's a scary combination for overclocking. Good luck with that.

I wanted to switch to an Intel processor so if I want to change my motherboard which one would you recommend

Is overclocking your thing, or would you want that option? The Intel Haswells are so fast they don't even need to be overclocked, in my opinion. Kind of night and day from the AMD CPUs which should be pushed to the limit ::p

So for most builds I tell people to get a cheap H97 board. They have most of the good connectivity features you find on the Z97 boards, but no overclocking. But that's fine if you go with somethimng like an i3-4160 or Xeon E3-1231.

I wanted to get an I5 4690K Intel processor. would the H97 be good with this processor?

It would work but you would be wasting money getting the K version since it won't overclock except on Z97.
