Recovery of the file copied from recycle bin

Moving a file manually from the Recycle Bin instead of restoring to it's original location presents no problem, the file should open wherever you move it to (I know 'cos I've done it several times, even to a pen drive).
The corruption has probably occurred because the pen drive is ready for scrapping, or you have faulty RAM or a failing hard drive.
I know of no way to retrieve the file or how to repair it.
