Both of these Western Digital drives are 1TB, Black drives, 64MB Cache, 7200 RPM, and SATA III yet one is $200 and the other is $75. Why is there such a massive price difference? What's so much better about the $200 drive? Also the $200 drive has over 3,000 reviews whereas the $75 one only has 340 reviews. Why are so many people buying the $200 drive when they are the same thing?

Solution
The more expensive drive is an older model. It likely has to use more platters to achieve the same storage as the newer model. The reason the older model is more expensive is that it requires more platters, more read write/write heads and even it's processor requires more silicon to make.
