I have XPS 15 (Haswell) with 512 GB Samsung SSD with Windows 8.1 This SSD has a 7GB Recovery partition on it. Now I am planning for a dual boot (Windows and Linux) and need to to partition the drive (without ruining it). How should it be partitioned? I already have created recovery USB flash drive so I can easily remove the Recovery partition of on the main drive but I am little skeptical how to configure it optimally for the dual boot.

Thanks in advance.

Hey there, mlogician.

You could take a look at this thread: http://askubuntu.com/questions/221835/installing-ubuntu-on-a-pre-installed-windows-8-64-bit-system-uefi-supported. This sounds like just the info you need (installing Linux on a pre-installed Windows 8 (64-bit) System).
And here's another article which could prove useful: http://linux.about.com/od/LinuxNewbieDesktopGuide/ss/The-Ultimate-Windows-81-And-Ubuntu-Dual-Boot-Guide.htm

Try out those tutorials and please let me know how everything goes.
