I built this gaming PC like 8 months ago and up until recently I had no issues. But the last couple weeks, my PC will randomly shut off without warning. I've only gotten a BSOD once, and then never again. Also, sometimes its not my PC that crashes, but only the display. It just goes black or turns into a ton of stripes.

This happens about once a day or two, but I feel it's going to get progressively worse.

My CPU used to be really loud but recently I cleaned out the fans and re-applied some thermal paste and now its almost silent.

I never overlock.

Here are my HWMontior readings

I'm on Windows 7.

PC Specs in case you need them:
430W PSU
8GB Ram
R9270x Asus GPU
AMD Athlon X4 860K Quad Core Processor 3.70 Ghz
1TB HDD
ASROCK FM2A55M0VG3+ Motherboard

What's causing my PC to shut off sometimes, and what can I do to fix it?

Thanks.

QUICK UPDATE: Display also temporarily switches off when I attempt to change resolution. This is a little side not main problem is still the above.

Your components probably haven't been running at full speed so yes, you will probably see an increase in performance compared to what you currently have.

Is your PSU a branded one or a just a generic one? Generic ones tend to be rated lower that what is published on their case. Not to mention poor delivery of current to your parts. Switching resolutions does give a quick black screen, but that should just be a couple of seconds.
