gtx580 vs gtx 750ti

I thought a 700 series card would be better by far than a 500 series card. I have a potential opportunity to go from my 580 to a 750 ti for pretty cheap but the stuff i'm reading online is telling me the 580 is a better card. Anyone able to confirm and explain this a bit?

The are about the same performance cards. The 580 is better but it is older, the 750ti is newer which makes it easy to keep up with the 580 and is able to almost match power in some areas

I would get the 750 TI and overclock it, sice it's better tech it will be better than older any day

The 580 is faster. You are comparing the old high gaming card to a newer but low end gaming card. If you have the 580 keep it till you can get something faster a 750ti would be a downgrade performance wise. The only upsides to the 750ti would be less heat and a big reduction of power usage.

580is better than 750 ti ,go for 780/970 if possible.

i would say go for gtx 660 better than gtx 750

The 660 is still not an upgrade from his 580, it more of a sideways move and not one worth spending money on.
