how do I get Internet connection in sons room on ps3 and 42"tv from living room

Solution
Wired Ethernet is the best option for speed and reliability. Next would be powerline networking. Last and least would be wifi.

Ethernet really is worth the effort to run the wire, IMO, and can be done by a modestly skilled person with moderately priced tools and a bit of planning and patience. Or by a pro installer.

Here is a recent Tom's review article on powerline adapters.
