Help!

I bought the XFX 650W TS Series 80+ bronze. I plugged it in and made sure all connections were correct to the motherboard and sata devices multiple times; absolutely nothing happened. I spent hours trying to see if I did anything wrong and couldn't find anything. I called my friend up and he brought over his Corsair CX600 and plugged everything in the same way. It started right up.

Should I try to get a replacement to get the same power supply or should I get a refund and go with the Corsair? I'm on a tight $70 budget.

My PC specs:
FX 6300
MSI R9 280 OC
8GB RAM
120GB SSD
1TB HDD
MSI 970 GAMING AM3+ motherboard
LG supermulti disc drive

Verify the I/O switch on the back was actually ON.
Verify it was actually plugged in to the wall or power strip, and the power strip was on.
If so, send it back and get a new one.

Yes I checked the switch every time I turned it on and I even used the same cord on my friends power supply.

I heard that EVGA doesn't offer as much quality as XFX, I'm worried about it damaging my system
