Need 4K support from video card

I need a video card that can accommodate my monitor's 4K resolution of 4096 x 2160 over Displayport or dual-link DVI. I've easily found a few cards that will do that but the problem is, I'm not interested in a power guzzling, multi-fan atrocity with a gazillion shaders... I'm not a gamer and couldn't care less about that stuff.

I'm just looking for a video card that can accommodate the monitor's resolution for typical 2D Windows desktop use with a minimum power and noise.

Any suggestions?

The GTX 970 is a good bet if you're not gaming @4K. It is expensive though but runs very cool.

The cheapest you can go is probably any thing with displayport and 2 gigs VRAM. The GTX 750 and the R7 250x comes to mind.

Thanks for the answer but like I said, I'm not interested in paying for stuff I don't need and will never use. Stuff like SLI, Cuda, 3D Vision, PhysX, and multi-monitor support.

I suppose I might be out of luck since both NVidia and ATI seem obsessed with gaming solutions that are overpriced and ill suited to my requirements.

Lol yeah most 4K cards are expensive and gaming oriented. But for one 4K screen, this should be enough. You might have trouble playing 4K movies with this though.

Edit: take this one instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125676
Ignore the pcpartpicker link ....... that one can't display 4K.

If I am not mistaken, intel integrated graphics will support 4k resolution with hdmi or displayport. That assumes a motherboard with rear panel dp.
But... only at a max of 30Hz . That is sufficient for relatively static displays and will show some blurring when moving windows.
Something stronger in the discrete area would be a GTX750, about $100.

I think dual link dvi will not support 4k resolution.
