Why are there different priced RAM sticks that are the same amount?

I recently built a computer with 16 gigs of RAM. I want to upgrade it and perhaps place 16 more gigs into it, but I am confused with purchasing. I went on a site to search for the hardware, and I noticed that if I wanted to buy 16 gigs, the prices ranged from $13-$700. Why is this? If they are both 16 gigs, why is the price range so large? Also I noticed that the more expensive ones are quite sci-fi looking and the lower price ones look like regular RAM components.

If wanting to go 32GB, best to simply get a 32GB set, mixing sets of DRAM can be and often is problematic, eeven if you get a set of DRAM identical (same exact model) as what you already have, there's no guarantee they will play with your old sticks
