as the title says, my cpu is throttling down to 1.4 ghz, all my power saving options are turned off in bios, i'm running a 8350 on a m5a78l-m asus motherboard, and a gtx 660 2gb with 8gb of ram
save the settings in your mobo in a profile and restore default settings and see if anything changes. possibly see if you need a mobo bioos update.
bios is up to date, i'll give default a go
You need a 970 or 990 FX board with 8+2 phase power. A good cheap board is a GA-970A-UD3P. Your board just does not have the means to supply clean current to that cpu.
is it effecting your frame rate? do you have an overclock? and are you using the stock cooler and if so what kind of temps are you getting?
effecting my frame rate greatly, going from 90-100 fps to 25-40, no overclock, it's still at stock 4.0 ghz, my system is water cooled and i have 30 C idle, 42 max while in game
try to unpark the cores and make sure in power management you have it set to high performance. you have to find it in control panel because i am assuming its a desktop so it doesn't show it in the taskbar

You have a lousy motherboard. Its either throttle the cpu or the mosfets explode.

i've already unparked the cores and it's on high performance

I had the same problem yesterday, i have the same CPU and mobo as you. I was on a 4.5ghz overclock and it was making my VRM overheat. Now im at 4.0ghz with turbo off, and my voltage is at 1.34v and there is no fps drop anymore.
