Hi, I have a problem with external hard drive WD10EADS (1TB; AC powered).

Because of bad AC&USB connector, I opened case and connected hard drive directly (via SATA cable).

Windows 8 recognised drive under disk management (unallocated space), with no letter. I changed letter, drive was recognised, but with no data. I tried to solve problem with "testdisk" software (no physical damage, no partitions found).

Then I managed to repair USB+AC connectors. When I connect hard drive via USB, drive isnt recognised, although it make a sound like disk started.

Is there any option to get files from my drive?

Hi there PriMa77,

I'm sorry that you are facing issues with your drive. :(
I assume that your drive model was WD My Book as it is powered externally. If this is the case, you were not able to access the data as the drive has hardware encryption. That means that the data can't be accessed if the drive is out of the enclosure connected internally. Unfortunately, in your case it seems that there is something wrong with the enclosure and your safest bet of recovering the data is to contact a data recovery company. You can check WD's Data Recovery Partners out: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=jH5tvA
