How will HD 7950 in 4-way crossfire do with 4K resolution and 1440p resolution?

Would it also give the higher end single cards a run for their money?

Solution
2 of them would be excellent for 1440p, no need for 4.

And this card is not equal to R9 270x, it is equal to R9 280 (non-X) in terms of performance.

How about 4K resolution?

Not an easy answer. In essence:

- before you even start thinking about getting 4 of those, you need a quality 1200W PSU, like Corsair AX. That's one hefty price premium.
- you need a big tower case and preferably water cooling on all cards

Now with that being out of the way, you would have varying results. Some games scale well with multiple cards, some don't at all.

I don't know how many 7950s do you currently own, but I would advise against buying additional ones to spare yourself of driver issues, microstuttering, and all other issues usually seen with multiple card setups. Not to mention the need for a very expensive PSU as well.

There is simple nothing at the moment that provides great framerates at ultra details at 4K. If I really had to nitpick, I'd get 2xGTX980 which should work with less issues and at much lower power requirements than 4x7950.
