problem: keeping selected files (eg 200 MP4 files) selected when moving them to folder already containing MP4 files (some files may already exist but under a similar name) and not loosing the highlight of these files when changing file order eg DATE so I can then select or cross reference any duplicates of the ones just added.
This was always available in previous versions of Windows prior to 7.
Anyway to get this simple feature back. ie keeping highlighted moved files highlighted in destination folder when resorting the columns?.

IMO, windows explorer got totally screwed up in Win7 but you can accomplish part of what you want to do. Open and sort the destination folder first and then paste the files into it. The files will remain highlighted and you can scroll through the window to see them.

Cut the files to move, open to the destination folder and sort as desired, and then paste the cut files. I don't know, however, if that works with drag and drop.

Can you imagine if Windows ruled the world? Monday would be followed by Tuesday then October but only if it were a leap year and you have paid for your licensed public holidays. but Friday would never come.

FOUND SOLUTION: http://www.cnet.com/how-to/a-fix-for-the-multifile-selection-glitch-in-windows-7-and-8/

Now windows 10 is completely burnt its reputation, I am even more determined to stay with 7 until I learn Linux and this solution was the biggest bug with 7 I hated. but its fixed it!
