Everything was put in place then came putting the psu cables in all fit and clipped in except the power supply to the motherboard it would go in but wouldnt latch my brother put a lot of force and still didnt latch went online found its a common fault in cx600 so we tried switiching it on when it didnt move then power cable but was still connected to the motherboard and then pressed the power button nothing...tried reversing the power connections after switching off psu ofcourse and retrying nothing again what do you expect has happened i did drop a screw on the motherboard while installing it around the RAM area? This sounds like the problem my PC had when I first built it, I had a corsair power supply like you and it wouldn't go in, DO NOT TRY TO FORCE IT IN you could break you motherboard, I would try another PSU if you have one (or your friends) if that doesn't work your motherboard might be bad, I would also check and see if your motherboard is compatible with your CPU and GPU. Hope this helps!
