Hello.
So, when I plugged power cable into my PSU, it made bang and smoke came. I checked the PSU inside and found a screw from there, and burn marks under the screw. Pic http://imgur.com/iVwsVxa
After I had taken screw out I decided to see will it work, and vola it started up without problems.
I don't really know is it safe to keep using it, or should I get replace? Also it's quite old too. Name is corsair VX550W

I am not electrician and no expert with this specific scenario, however my personal preference going forward would be to replace the PSU, to be on the safe side for a number of reasons:

1. It is inexpensive to get a new PSU in the 500w bronze range, ESPECIALLY vs replacing more crucial components like mobo, cpu, gpu etc.

2. Though it may run fine and seem to be as good as it was before, the incident could have altered something within the unit and how it delivers power, making it dangerous

3. The corsair vx series was never particularly famed for being that good and it would not be a crying shame to replace it

This is my personal opinion on why I would buy another PSU
