Screen keeps going black, not power settings related?

My partner's display keeps going black after her PC has been on for a little while. Usually, playing a game (a proper game, not some Facebook browser thing) kicks it off. It happens seemingly at random. It does not appear to be related to the power profile or screensaver etc., as it will happen when she is actively using the computer, and I've changed it so the screensaver doesn't kick in for 30 minutes, and the power profile so that things don't switch off for like three hours.

It only started doing it recently, maybe for the past four days. I thought it might be driver dodginess, so I've done a clean install of Radeon's latest (she is using a Sapphire R9 270 Dual-X OC). I've also given her PC a spruce up internally, all the heatsinks, fans, surfaces etc. have been cleaned up and the PC isn't overheating, in fact it is running a bit cooler than I would expect.

So I'm at a loss. Any ideas what could be causing this please? It is causing her problems when she is raiding, and I'm getting my ear bent to fix it lol

This PC is a home-build and has been upgraded various times, the most recent being a AM3+ mobo (can't remember which offhand), FX-4130 cpu, 8GB of RAM and the R9 in December. PSU is about 6 months old, it is a 680 watt G7. It has been running perfectly stable up until about four days ago.

The brand. I've been using one for about a year myself, my partner's brother has a G7 too, he has had it for about 2.5 years and is currently running two graphics cards on it without a problem, which is why I bought one for her as well.

You said you had the 680W G7? I hear they're OK but they run very hot. Anyway, it has like 4 12V rails which is kind of ridiculous. They dont have a website by search. I can't find the amperage on the rails either so I can tell how much watts it ACTUALLY outputs. But I hear its quiet too.

TL;DR Too little info on it to tell. I suggest upgrading.
