Im thinking of buying a motherboard that has a lga 1150 socket, ATX board. My CPU is the i7-4790k processor. Which mobo to get? Im confused. What is a chipset actually FOR?

Whenever i look at a motherboard some reviews say it died fast or its not worth the money. Any answers will be appreciated!

Current build:

To me, Asus motherboards are top dog. I've never had one die on me before replacing it by choice. Z97 is the best mainstream gaming chipset while X99 is the best enthusiast level. The parts you've chosen are great. When it comes to SSDs, I'm usually looking for a longer warranty than 3-years, but the Kingston drive is probably fine. Also, I usually go Nvidia over AMD based on my own past-recent experience. I hear AMD has made great strides in getting rid of frame time issues at the hardware level with their R9 290 and 290x models so these are the absolute only ones I'd go with if I went back to AMD. That asus motherboard will support a future crossfire setup. 16GB of RAM should be plenty for gaming.

Good build.

Well you see, its kind of expensive. And the reviews say that it died really fast. Im thinking of upgrading to another asus product to give it another chance. I dont want to be left disappointing.
