Well, a friend needs a new pc after his laptop was fried and I have no clue at this price range, so here we go...

Approximate Purchase Date: This Week

Budget Range: Less than 500$, preferably before rebates.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: BF4 / Arma 2 and 3 / Image Editing (SAI) / Everything Else

Are you buying a monitor: No

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg / NCIX(US) / Microcenter

Location: Around Boston, Massachusetts, USA

Parts Preferences: Anything that works

Overclocking: Unlikely

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: N/A

Additional Comments: User wants to be able to run BF4 / Arma 3 at 40 FPS and use SAI, The first two of which seem a bit ridiculous at this price range, but it would be nice to at least get close.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: (e.g. I'm having trouble running game X or my PSU broke)

Image editing program. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAI_%28software%29. It's not really intensive I just put it in there because it's something he uses a lot.

Quite challenging with those demands and that budget. Going with an FX-6300 and corresponding mobo gets it down to 600.
