4k video playback issues

So earlier this year i was able to play 4k videos on my computer without a problem. Then i Re-installed windows, and now its not playing smooth at all, its choppy and the audio is choppy to, cant play smooth at all. its unwatchable. I installed all the drivers and everything is up to date. What could be the problem?


I have a 7970 ghz edtion graphics card, and a 8350 fx 8 core processor, so hardware shouldnt be the issue, i didnt change anything either.

you cant view 4k on 1080p or 1440p, because it wont support it. the reason possibly allowing you to "view 4k" would be your eyes not seeing the lag and good internet.

for example i ahve a 1080p monitor and i can "supposedly view 4k my eyes just cant see the lag, however sometimes i can and it distorts.

it sounds stupid but i have had friends ask this question and that has been the reason.
