am building a new computer, and this is my first time building one. i have selected to use this motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132510 which has 4 slots for 240pin memory and supports 32gb of memory. i found these memory sticks: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233630 these fully utilize my 4 slots and 32gb. however this says quadchannel while other options said dualchannel. so my question would be, is there a difference? is the ram i selected compatible with the motherboard i selected?

Solution
It means you can run 32GB on it - but it will all run in dual channel - to run in quad channel you would need to build on the 2011/X79 or 2011 v3/X99 mobo. Simply put while you can run 4 sticks (I do on my rigs in sig) but they all run in dual channel mode

You have an 1150 mobo, which is tops at dual channel, you have 2 (CHannel A and Channel B, both have two slots assigned that can be filled. With 2 or four slots filled all DRAM runs in dual channel (128 bit) mode. Quad channel (256 bit) is only available on the 2011 and 2011 v3 socket PC mobos.

what does all that mean? im really new to building computers, so i am unfamiliar with most of the technical names and such. does that mean i need a newer version of the same mobo?
