We got a new Asus Cellspot router. All devices connect to it but my husbands main work laptop; a Gateway . Just moments before disconnecting the old router it was connected and working fine on the Gateway laptop. We cannot figure out what settings need to be adjusted to get this laptop to connect to the cellspot. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!

I believe this what you have (I could be wrong) the main problem that I have seen with new routers, especially wifi, is that older computers do not have an "ac" network card. Where you see the picture of the router set up, you will notice it has a setting for 5ghz and 2.4ghz. Older laptops usually have a "G" card. try the 2.5 setting. This only takes a moment and could quickly changed back if it does not help.
