Hi guys, first time poster here!

So this is my issue: I have a ASUS P5KPL mobo and I had 3gb of RAM installed (2gb+1gb). Today I went to a store and bought another 2gb RAM. When I plug it into the mobo, the pc starts but there is no BIOS post, there is no video. I can tell the pc starts because of the fans.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't my mobo be compatible with a 2gb DDR2 CL5 module? Or is there anything else I have to pay attention?

Yes it is.

Nope, I've tried it alone, with no additional sticks and it's the same as before. No beep, no image, just PC BIOS. I've managed to make it to mobo splash screen but it freezes there. When it reaches there it still doesn't beep. Not the 3short or the single usual one.

I've tried every slot, no luck. Tried with other functional modules and nothing either.

I've already resetted the CMOS and still no luck. Maybe a defective stick? I bought it brand new from the store.

if the others don´t work now too, the sticks have contact problems, are not really tightened in the slots, or something else has died.

try the motherboard outside the case, on a non conducting surface, like wood.

Test minimal config: Power Supply, CPU, CPU Cooler, one RAM (test in all Dimm slots, every time you change that, unplug power from wall plug)

did you reseat the clear cmos jumper back to its default position?

can you enter the BIOS? press <DEL> while BIOS screen is showing

They work, I'm answering from my machine right now. It's just the new one that doesn't work, all the others work just fine.
When I put two (an old one and the new one), the pc starts, but no image on monitor. When I put just one of the old ones, the pc starts correctly. If I put only the new one, the pc starts but no image on monitor again.

Yes, I reseat the clear cmos jumper back and I can only enter the BIOS if the new ram stick isn't plugged into the mobo. My pc works just fine, but it just won't recognize this stick.

I will try the mobo outside the case suggestion.

EDIT: Still doesn't work. Thing is, is just that new ram stick. If I start my pc with any 2 of the old DIMM's, it works normally. I think I'll go by the shop tomorrow and ask for another one instead.
