So I managed to get a really good deal on an FM2+ motherboard, so I'm going to go the AMD route. The 2 CPU's that fit within my budget are the Athlon X4 860K ($87.30), the Athlon X4 760K ($96.98) and the AMD A10 5600K ($109.98). For both gaming and general use, which is a better CPU for my money?

Solution
RCFProd's solution is correct, but his statement is not. The X4 860k is actually the A10 7850K without integrated GPU. Not the 5800K.

For pure CPU performance:
860k > 760K > 5800K

Same goes for power consumption.

If you don't have a graphics card then the 5600k is the only one that will work

If you do have a graphics card then 860k is the best

I have a Radeon r9 270. So I guess an 860K?

Yep. It's also the cheapest right now which is great for you :)
