Hi, my Sony Vaio vpceb11fm crashed---laptop said no operating system found. I wanted to put a new drive in for a while so i didn't care. I reinstalled windows on the new drive with no problems. NOW, i hooked old drive up to usb to ide / sata enclosure and it can be seen in Device manager but not in explorer. It has no letter assigned to it and when i try to initialize in computer management, I get the message device not ready. What can i do? I can hear the disk moving and in device manager it says this device is working properly

As far as I can tell its normal. Sounds like the plates are spinning, no tick tick sound. The problem actually occurred when for the 1st time ever, I pressed the vaio web access button, so I could access the web without booting up laptop. That's when for the first time ever I saw no operating system found
