Is my sata port 1, 2, or 3. My motherboard is Lenovo 20144. I need fast ssd with small capacity (64gb or 128gb).

Solution
You need the SATAIII type SSD for your laptop. Download the manual and go to page 37 to check out how to replace the HDD. http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-b-series-laptops/lenovo-b580-notebook?c=1 or watch the youtube too ( it is not the exactly same model as your laptop, but the way to open the laptop is the same) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nje-Fv6le6Q
If you fell comfortable with that, then you go out buy the 120GB SATAIII SSD but I recommend to get the 240GGB one.

Before you start, go to lenovo site http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-b-series-laptops/lenovo-b580-notebook?c=1 download all the drivers to the USB, Like audio, bluetooth/modem, cam/card reader...
OP laptop has the HM77 Mb, so the sata ports will be either SATAII or SATAIII.

And I recommend to buy not less than 240GB SSD (OS +program + data) for the laptop, 120GB SSD (for OS + program only) for desktop. But don't buy the 60GB SSD for the laptop, because the size is too small.

There is really no sure way to know, even Lenovo will give you their "corporate line: yeah it works sataIII!" but doesn't answer if it really "runs" at sataIII speed.

Buy it from somewhere you can return, no question asked, but even at sataII, it will beat any HDD.

1) Recommend to find out what is your laptop model first? Here is how http://www.sparepartswarehouse.com/ModelsSerialImg.htm#IBM
2) Go to the Lenovo site to find out the laptop specifications or manual.
3) Using google find out the how to replace the laptop HDD, then you know you can switch the HDD with SSD. Even you can open the laptop to see the HDD is sata type or not, because if the laptop does not have the msata header, you can't use the msata tpye SSD, I think most of the laptop will use the sata tpye not the msata type.
4) If you don't know how, can you post the model? and we will try to help you out.

And using the win8 key and go to microsoft site to get the Win8/8.1. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/upgrade-product-key-only

After you get ready the drivers, open the laptop, replace the HDD wi the SSD, closed it and reboot. And using the win8 or 8.1 DVD to install the OS.
