Regedit wont open

I have win 8.1 and regedit wont open i tried running it as administrator and still nothing.

And why, specifically, are we going into the registry? What are you trying to fix?

i never used it on win 8 i installed win 8 like about a month and iam try to fix gta 5 that wont launch too.

Where did you obtain the game from?

Right. I've seen several other users having regedit issues, only after installing GTA V.
What does Steam say?

Well...if it was working before, and by installing GTA via Steam, and it hosed your Regedit, and you are not the only one with this issue....I would expect them (Steam or Rockstar) to fix it.

I don't know of a 'fix', because I've never had that happen.
What exactly does it do when you try to open Regedit?
And why are you opening Regedit? What problem in there are you trying to fix?

when i click on it nothing happens no error message or similar but when i click on gta it does not open like regedit it shows up in task manager for few seconds and then it closes i think its the same thing with regedit.Some people posted fix for gta via regedit so i thought ill give it a try.
