I'm looking at building my own computer and I wanted to know if I could do dual monitor set up with a 760 but only one of the monitors will be used for games. I will probably only be playing games on normal settings and not on high. Games like Vindictus or Final Fantasy 14... Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking at HP ProDisplay P221 for my monitors. I use them at work and I really like them.

Solution
Yes, no problem. The 760 has one DisplayPort, an HDMI 1.4, and two DVIs. Multiple monitors are will work unless your resolution exceeds the capability of an output, but that's not an issue for the screen you chose.

The HP ProDisplay P221 is only a 1080p display at 60 hz, so you can run it on any of the ports that match the monitor. The only cable your monitors will accept is a DVI, and your card has exactly two of them. That's just enough to run dual displays without adapters.

But if you get adapters (DisplayPort to DVI and HDMI to DVI) and two more ProDisplay P221s, I'm pretty certain you could theoretically run four of those displays at once using a single GTX 760.

Enjoy!

You'd need an adapter to use the monitor you selected if you buy a 960.

To find out what outputs cards have, look them up on NewEgg. Here's the link to the 960: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487091

There's a tab called "Specifications." Click it, and then scroll down to the section called "Ports" or something similar. There, you'll find which combination of DVI, DisplayPort, and HDMI the card offers.

Since the 960 only has one DVI port, you can run it directly to one of your monitors. The others will need to be converted from either the DisplaPort or HDMI outputs. Look on Amazon to see what's the most cost-effective solution.

Another option is to just buy monitors with DisplayPort inputs. That is the new standard for computer monitors anyway, so getting something with modern inputs makes sense.

If you're looking at cards in the 760/960 range, you'll probably want to stick with 1080p. Those cards can't really drive the next resolution up, which is 1440p.

Here are two options that provide very good 1080p panels with a DisplayPort input

Dell P2214H - On sale a Best Buy, and it's a pretty good screen.

Asus PB238Q - Normal price at NewEgg. It's more than the Dell, and I'm not sure it's better, but it's still a good screen.
