Im building a gaming setup for the recently out games to play on high/ultra and for the cpu part i want ab i5 .. But which i5 should i go for ?
looking for price/performance wise of all of them to buy and i will list them in order to what i could afford easily to the most priced one
I5 2500k
I5 4450-4460
I5 3570k
I5 4690
I5 4690k
So if i bought the 4x unlocked ones i will have to go for a Z97 mobo and for that i am going to gey the r9 280x anyway so thats totally unaffordable to me .. But if i chose the sandy bridge unlocked one its cheaper for the mobo but i read it affects the pcie 3 gpus so am not sure ... Same for ivy bridge .
Ur opinions pls

The i5 2500K is a very venerable overclocker.

Plus there's not a massive difference between them. So, sure go for the first one if you wish to.

New CPUs in the Skylake line will be coming later this year I believe.

As far as CPUs there is not a big enough difference between a sandy bridge to an ivy bridge for it to matter.

Performance wise the generation of the cpu/board will not matter much, price though can be a big factor. Due to the ivy/sandy bridge platform being out of production it is likely that both the cpu and the motherboard will be more expensive then its newer haswell version
