Would anyone know why an Acer Laptop shuts down after attempting to load any application?

Would anyone know why an Acer Laptop shuts down after attempting to load any application? I understand that there are a long list of things that could be wrong but any help creating a list would be amazing. This is not a manufacturers error, this happened after a dog had knocked over the computer.

Does shut down mean windows starts the shut down process,
or does it mean that it immediately flashes the bios screen and restarts or just powers off.

The first one is strictly software related and likely be virus or windows corruption
Second one is a hardware issue. Could be a bad part, failing power supply, thermal safeguard because the pc is too hot, or bluescreen is causing pc to reboot.

It just powers off, i do not believe that its a software problem because it had started after the laptop was knocked over
