What does everyone consider the best/better Antivirus at the moment?

Hi,

I consider myself a tech savvy user and haven't really seen the need for a full payed security suite. Just been using Windows Defender and Malwarebytes.

What does everyone consider the best/better Antivirus at the moment, both free and paid? and do you think you still need one if you are "tech savvy"

Been looking at Avira, AVG, Bitdefender and Kaspersky.

For paid antivirus I recommend bit defender.
Norton and McAffe are bloated and don't protect well
Kaspersky used to be my go to but their 2014 product let several viruses through for people
AVG/Avast/other free ones are the better then nothing product.

If you are very knowledgeable about viruses and network security you could get by with nothing but malwarebytes when you get something from a website.
"Tech-savvy" is a very broad category and at the lower end of the spectrum actually makes you more likely to give yourself a virus then a "dumb" user as you know just enough to get yourself into more trouble.
