I want to know or have a general idea of how many watts I need for a new power supply in my computer.

I have:
Motherboard: Asus P8Z77 http://
1 DVD RW drive
2 Hard drives: 1 WD Blue 500gb and 1 WD Black 1tb
CPU: i-5 3470 at 3.2ghz
GPU: AMD R9 280 http://
RAM: 3 sticks that equal to 12gb tops for some reason even though I have 1stick of 4gb and 2 sticks of 8gb.

I was looking at this power supply but I don't know if this is enough? http://

I only have certain links (as you can see) for my components in my computer and so I don't know all the specs. and stuff like that to figure this out (also I have no time so I thought I could ask on a forum), which is why I am asking for your help.

Thank you in advance.

A good 550W PSU will do for your rig. I would suggest this PSU:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Power Supply: SeaSonic S12G 550W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply ($74.98 @ Newegg)
Total: $74.98
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

I suggested that PSU not just looking at i5 alone but your entire system. It will be more than good enough.
