I started messing around with my an PC 775 socket its my first time building I brought a new GPU new HD new ram stuck it all together and it worked great was using it for a few days and decided to get a new CPU and liquid cooler

the cooler came first so I wanted to test it out before the new CPU arrived anyway I took the PC apart as I had to get to the back of the motherboard to fit the part of the cooler bracket that goes at the back when i looked the old one was stuck on really hard im talking solid stuck so i used 4 knifes one around each screw hole and popped it out there was some minor scratching over the back of the motherboard but didnt leave any marks that I could see upon inspection

I put everything back together booted up the PC and its just a black screen no signal all the fans are working the new cooler LED light has lit up the GPU fan is working and HD is making noise PSU fan working but the keyboard and USB mouse the lights on them flash when it turns on but then go off.I tried my electric cigarette charger in each USB to see if they have power coming from them and they do.

I removed the RAM didnt change anything I didnt hear any beeps but not sure If i have onboard speaker? I removed the cooler no change either reseated the GPU checked all cables no change at all I removed the wireless card nothing changed I checked for thermal paste on the bottom of the cpu and there was some slight amount I cleaned that off with some tiny amount alcohol didnt change a thing

at this point is it safe to say my mobo is screwed due to my stupidity? not sure if to take it to a repair shop or just order a new Mobo any advice please?

i know 775 is old hat now but i have a ps4 and just wanted to spend on this 775 to play some old classic pc games like GTA 4 ect

what would your next step be (apart from upgrading) in my shoes repair shop or just guessing and getting a replacement mobo?

had a bit of a change in circumstances here I took all the ram out except for the first slot and it booted up! it said COMS incorrect or something once it booted so changed that all back to previous settings got into windows fine all looks ok

so I tried ram in slot 2 works fine but soon as i put ram in slots 3 and 4 the pc wont boot.I tried all the sticks in the 1st slot and 2nd and the sticks all work fine and boot up just when they are in 3 and 4 it wont boot any ideas? also sometimes see an error saying coms check sum or something but it still boots with ram in slots 1 and 2
