AMD Crossfire or a brand new more powerful card?

Hey guys, I really need to upgrade my video card and I can't decide between buying another video card to crossfire it with the one i already have, or buy a new and more powerful one.
I currenlty have a GIGABYTE Radeon HD6850. Another one would cost me around $95. Or I can buy Sapphire AMD Radeon R9 270 OC Dual-X, which would cost me $260.
I do know about what Crossfire implies and the risks (micro stuttering), also higher noise and consumption from my PSU.
What I'm asking is that is is worth to crossfire (which I can afford right now) or to save some money and buy the R9 270?

Solution
well r9 270 isn't a great improvement over the 6850, it's basically the same class of graphics cards (mid-high level only 1.5 generations newer)
assuming the games you play support crossfire that's a better choice for the budget. what's your psu model btw?

Save some money, wait for the new cards to hit market, hopefully you will see the prices drop around that time.

That's my opinion.

Second option is get another card and try the crossfire, see how well it does, you can return the card if its not worth it, and still can save for the future. Just make sure your PSU can support another card IE has enough wattage and the spare power cord.

Well I checked my PSU to see if it can handle 2 GPU's and it seems I can't Sli/crossfire :(
I didn't even think of this aspect, I will wait until the summer and make a move then. Thank you! Multumesc!
