Black Screen After BIOS Splash

I have tried all the steps listed in the sticky. Only things are that my case did not come with spacers (my old one did) so I assumed they were not required with this case, and also this case apparently does not have a speaker; so no beep codes.
I have only gotten 2 BSODs. They both happened the same day, after the first RMA, and 2 days before it totally stopped working again. One was 0x0000109 and the other was 0x00000050. Since those 2 I have gotten no more BDOD or any type of error message. Nor had I gotten any before the initial RMA, only with this "new" board. One day it just didn't boot.

Aside from that here's the issue. PC was working fine, until one day it booted to a black screen after the BIOS splash screen. After exhausting my troubleshooting knowledge I sent the motherboard back to ASUS on RMA. When I got the board back it worked for 3 or 4 days, and now the same thing is happening again. The only difference is when it first started happening again, for the first couple re-boots it woud get to the Windows loading screen, freeze, then restart, and now it's back to a black screen after the splash. I'm wondering if it's really the board and I should go ahead and do another RMA, or if something else could be causing this.

I've reseated everything down to the CPU several times. I reconnected all plugs several times. I've swapped out and around my ram sticks. Tried a different PSU as well as GFX card. Reset BIOS settings many times. Reset the CMOS battery. Tried with no HDD, and get same result (black screen after BIOS splash). Tried booting with no RAM at all, doesn't even get to BIOS splash screen.

Specs:
ASUS M5A97 R2.0 motherboard
8 GB XMS3 Corsair RAM
Radeon R7 260x gfx card
AMD FX 6350 six core CPU
Thermaltake Smart 650W 80+ Bronze PSU
Cougar Solution case

If you think I may have missed any info or a troubleshooting step prior to posting this or should try one again please let me know and I will try it asap.

I don't have any windows disks, nor do I have a CD drive honestly. Well, I do, but it's back home along with the rest of my stuff (I moved and had a family member ship just my tower which didn't have the drive installed at the time)
But if it does the same thing with or without the HDD plugged in, wouldn't it be something else?
Anyways, the PSU is a Thermaltake Smart 650w 80+ Bronze. Should be way more than enough.

Is the motherboard sitting on the bare metal? I would double check.

can you get into BIOS? There may be some diagnostics in the BIOS that can help.

If the MB is OK, I would check the power supply or CPU, have you checked the PS outputs and did you include thermal paste when you re installed the CPU. Make sure the CPU fan is running.

The board is screwed into raised brackets that are around 1/2 to 1 inch off the backside of the case. Yes I can get into the BIOS but I don't have the user manual here so I'm not sure what I can do in there. I did play with all the boot options among some others. All fans are running and of course included thermal paste. I don't have tools to check the actual PSU outputs but everything is getting power. USBs all light up, HDD spins, GFX fan spins, case fan spins, CPU fan spins.

I would check in BIOS to see that the memory, cpu, HD, etc are being detected accurately. Other than that, you may have gotten another bad board. It happens.

I wish I could be more helpful.

Well there is always a BIOS option that throws me off in regards to the HDD drive and what type the BIOS is looking for, I always forget about it. But like I said I've gone through and played with all those options. It shows all the correct stuff, it lists my HDD as the boot device, shows all other hardware properly as well. There is an option that by default is set to iirc AHCI by default and I have to change it to IDE in order for it to boot the HDD (correct me if I'm wrong there, might be vice versa). The other option is RAID which I'm not set up for.

Probably going to do another RMA tomorrow unless a miracle appears on this thread over night :)
