So I am planning to buy a r9 290, but now I'm searching for a good build with it. I already have some things in mind (please leave these in the build):
-intel pentium G3258(because it's cheap and good overclockable)
-8 gb ram (crucial ballistix sport but it could be any other brand)
-cpu cooler from cooler master (but could be any other brand)
-extra cooler from cooler master(but could be any other brand, this extra cooler is because i'm probably going going to overclock gpu)
-500 watt power supply
-cooler master case without window (because compatibility with the coolers)
-msi h81m-p33 (but could be any other compatible mother board)
Please don't change amount of ram and please keep the intel pentium. So I hope someone can make a good build (gpu not included) for around $300/$400. I'm dutch so if you are using pcpartpicker, it's always a little bit more expensive (pcpartpicker is cheaper). Thanks in advance!

I would much rather go with this build
You are getting the performance from a quad core!
Also there would be a bottleneck with a r9 290 and a g3258

He has the budget to afford the Intel i3-41600 to be fair which is good for any level of gaming in combination with a great graphics card.

This build is what should be preferred over OC'ing a G3258 really. Also, an XFX 550w is what you need atleast for the R9 290.

CPU Cooler you won't need.

Intel i3-4160 + R9 290 is a nice combo.

Bit of an overmatched GPU to the rest of the build, but if you insist:

Not really sure what you mean by extra cooler for the GPU. Not really any single product that cooler master makes that you can easily apply to a GPU. NZXT G10 bracket and an h55 water cooler maybe, but that would be quite an expense for this budget.

If you were to list where you are buying from in the Netherlands, I can probably build an accurate budgeted list in the proper currency.

I like the concept of the Pentium as an interim processor. They are cheap and you don't lose much. With the Z97 chipset, this computer can later be upgraded to an i5 or i7 haswell/broadwell CPU. Paired with an R9-290 that will make an impressive machine.

i5 quad core + r9 290 = Great gaming pc
A h81 is a fine motherboard is fine
Also remember, a 600W PSU is the minimum of wattage that the r9 290 needs.

True, I've tried one to keep it at 400 dollars. This is my last post in this thread.

Don't really like that.
For $9+ you get a more known brand of RAM, a 600W good psu and 1TB of space
