Browncat's MMO Gaming / Video Stream - 1st time build, 2nd prototype

Solution
Your build was pretty solid, but there are a few things I would change

The 4690 is locked, so it isn't worth getting it, I changed it to the 4460, about 2% slower at the most and it costs about $50 more, you would be better off getting a 4690k with the price of that and have the ability to overclock, but as I said the 4460 would be the logical choice here for a locked i5.

You aren't overclocking there is no point in having a CPU cooler especially one that expensive if you aren't overclocking, what I would do if you want silence is pick up the 212 evo and put a quiet. inexpensive aftermarket fan on it, that way you don't spend that much for the premium on a noctua cooler. However, the 212's fan is already relatively quiet until it...

The 850 pro is a top of the line SSD and it just isn't fast enough compared to the 850 evo to justify the premium price, for the same amount of money you can get a 250gb 850 evo instead of the 128gb pro which will allow more room for other programs that you may want on your SSD, but its up to you for that if you want pure performance.

Like you said, the power supply is fanless so it is dead silent, but a good quality unit with a fan is just about as quiet and I can't even hear mine because case fans and video card fans are always going to be louder anyways. No point of going fanless in my opinion.

With the money saved up switching the other parts, it allowed for me to switch your graphics card to the GTX 970 which is significantly faster than the 960 and also has more vram which will allow for more future-proofing as they call it.

I don't really have an input on your case and peripherals because they are mostly personal preference. Anyways, hope I helped. Here is the list:

Well done! Thanks for giving me a few extra critical things to discover and learn about. I feel the end of this parts picking is almost near and feel very good about it now.

Your recommended video card will be *much* better than the one originally proposed. I never even considered it as a possibility due to its extra cost - it just was not in my budget. OR SO I THOUGHT!!!!. However, you made it happen by recommending the 4460. :D

For others who may be interested, here is a good comparison article between the 4690k and 4460 that broke it down into layman's English and helped bring it home. For my purposes, it should serve well - requires less power too.

This was just the start of me taking into consideration your recommendations. I'm starting to hone-in on the final of the final ! :D Thank you again, browncat
