Hello

I am about to get some old VHS tapes transferred to my computer. I do own an old VHS player with only scart output. My question is if I can get a converter (scart to USB/HDMI or some output my computer possesses) and play it on my computer and record the screen from there? Or if there is any known software which allows me to record it when it´s hooked up to my computer?

Any help is greatly appreciated and it should be known that I need some of the tapes on Friday so if I could avoid getting a box that sort of record it directly from my tv I would be happy.

I would get a SCART -> Composite or SCART -> S-Video adapter and then work on getting Composite or S-Video sources to get into the PC. For example, pretty much every TV tuner can work with this. They're typically PCI-e or USB 2.0.

As for software, it's going to be OS-dependent, but Virtualdub should work. There's probably something that's been written in the last 8 years that's newer, but it's still a good capture software for this purpose.
