shielding. the only thing i can come up with is you ate radiating a signal out of either. put a pice of tinfoil behind the antenna and case and see if improves. or you got a weird driver problem.. Re install wirelss card drivers. I would move machine closer to router first to see if signal improves. If so shield the back side of case with 3 layers of tin foil.

@USARet it is a desktop. btw im using a different pc to use the internet which is working super properly...
im not sure about the wifi device but i can give you the adapter names, there are three of them:
- Intel(R) Technology Access TAP Driver (NDIS 6.30)
- Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 802.11/g/n Wifi Adapter
- Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

Hope this can help! :D

Check B/G/N Settings in adepter properties. Also go and look at the wifi names list in network settings. If you have a * ton of duplicates get rid of them. I have seen this isue before now that you have clarified. You can have a bunch of wifi names in the list. For what ever reason the adapter gets confused. Remove them all and re conect. If that doesnt work Reset router. Hard reset. Assighn same old pass word.
