going to learn how to OC my old idiotic AMD A6-3650. i need to do a fresh install of my Win7 on it anyways, so would i be better off staying with HDD for now, or installing it onto SSD? i've read that when OCing and messing around with some frequencies, it can cause some SATA stuff to go wonky while other stuff stays stable.

i really would prefer not to spend any more money...

Solution
If you have the option, use a SSD for the "C" drive.
It makes everything so much quicker.

I doubt that a ssd has any impact overclocking.
