I have a Toshiba Satellite A665. It comes factory with (2) 1 GB Sticks of DDR3 PC3-8500S RAM. I purchased (2) 4GB sticks with same specs on eBay. The listing also said it was compatible with the laptop's model. (Yeah, right). Not knowing what would happen I bought them.
-Installed both sticks and made sure they fit and were properly seated (and locked)
-Turned on laptop and the Toshiba logo screen with BIOS boot option comes up
-After Toshiba screen, the laptop restarts, and continues to do this in a loop.
-I do not see any options in BIOS to change RAM settings *****8192MB of RAM recognized*****
-The BIOS version is up to date
-I heard something about disabling Legacy USB but it did not work for me
I am currently working on COMPTIA certification, so I understand technical answers. Anything to try without ruining laptop would be great!!!
