Hi all,

My PSU has two 6-pin PCI-e connectors. I currently have both 6-pins connected to the two 6-pin slots on my HD6870. I'm looking to upgrade to the Asus GTX 970 which has a single 8-pin slot, and was wondering if this is possible given my current power supply?

Solution
Is your power supply modular? If it is you can just swap out your current two 6 pins for one 8 pin, If not my EVGA GTX 970 only uses two 6 pin connectors. So that's always an option.
Just in case what is your power supply wattage? Since your power supply did have 2 6 pin i imagine it should be able to handle 970. If your psu doesn't have 8 pin for pci-e you can use molex 2x 4 pin (peripheral) to 1 8 pin pci-e for it. Usually they were supplied together with graphic card purchase as but if there is none you can buy it yourself.
