Greetings and thank you for taking the time to read this. I am having a very interesting problem that is very very recent. I was playing GTA V like a lot of people are right now and All of sudden my computer just turned off. I of course thought it was over heating, but I was looking at my temps and my cpu doesn't pass 60-71c, which is usually the temps of someone playing a game like that on max. But I played the game for hours before and now every time I try to run it it crashes my pc with out any warning 20-30 minutes in. I checked all things that could cause a pc to just suddenly shut off besides processor because I don't think it's over heating according to the readings.I checked for bad ram, bad sectors, bad power supply, checked the air flow, and I even cleaned out the whole thing and repasted and added a fan. I think it is my board shutting off the pc trying to save the processor because most newer boards have that fail safe, but it's obviously not hot enough to cause damage so is there maybe something in the Bios I could turn on or off or just plain adjust to stop this? or do you think I should check to see if my bios needs an update? I have checked everything to my knowledge of software to hardware and it really really has stumped me. So could some one please help me out?

my specs: Motherboard:Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z
Ram:32 gigs
Heatsink:Noctua NH-D14 120mm & 140mm SSO CPU Cooler
Gpu:two gtx 970's
Processor:AMD FX 9590 (Not over clocked)
HD space: 8TB
Powersupply: 1300w
Case: rosewell throne

Solution
CPU temp of 71C is a bit too high. How are you measuring this temp?

The 9590s do get hot really easy though. And GTAV does push CPUs pretty hard. But I thought a D14 would've been fine. CPU fan speed?
Did you change boards since your last thread? Seems you had a GA-990FXA-UD3 didn't you? Were you not able to get the deal with only four cores showing fixed?

Have you installed the new NVidia drivers that were released a couple of day ago specifically for GTA V?

600rpm is a bit low. bump it up to 1000rpm

So turned up the fan speed, and I really can't update my Bios at the moment because I don't have an empty usb stick with me, but I do have that in mind. Do you guys have any other ideas that could be causing it ?
