Sharing a 802.1x with a router and an ethernet port

I live on campus at University and I am given a wifi connection and an ethernet connection but I have to use my student login. I want to connect to the Uni network but a PS4 or PSVITA cannot connect to a network that requires a password AND username.

I bought a router and put DDWRT on it, so now the router is connect via wifi and connected to my PS4 via ethernet but this proves laggy and is horrible to play FIFA on.

Is there a way I can connect my router with ethernet and either share the connection wired or wirelessly without the clients requiring to enter a username and password, either with the default firmware or DDWRT?

I think it may not be possible as they provide secure to their network... it will ask for the password

If it is really using 802.1x it is designed to prevent exactly what you are attempting to do.

The end device is called a supplicant and by design it must be a single device. A router/switch or any type of network equipment by definition is not allowed to act as a supplicant.

The only way you can get around this is to find a device that violates this design. Most companies will not sell equipment like this and even if they did all the college would have to do is require you to use certificates in addition to userid and password.

The only way I have even seen this partially bypassed is to use a PC and use ICS to share the connection. Still microsoft is aware of that issue and I am not sure if they have disabled that ability yet or not.

I forgot to mention that DDWRT allows you to input your username and password so all connections via ethernet do not require it. Thats how I currently have my PS4 on the network, my router is connected via wifi with my login details set, then ethernet from router to PS4. I could also use a program like Connectify to make a wifi connection or use Windows' internet sharing capabilities, but these all aren't the solutions I am after as they cause lag :/

Perhaps if I use a desktop computer with a dual ethernet card, used ethernet in and then out to my PS4 this would work better? But I'd prefer the router.
