Assuming this is a typical home router they are already on the same Lan and should be able to communicate fine, you can test this by pinging each others ip address.

There is sometimes an option on the wireless for clients operating in "isolated mode" meaning they are not allowed to talk to each other, this should be unticked.

Oh wait.. hang on... this is hard to understand.. the router is not wireless. you want to connect the 2nd PC via wireless?

Can you state again clearly what method of connection you have on the 2 PC's and what you want to do?

Ahhh I see. Can you specify some games you are trying?
Are you running any firewall software?

Ah right.

With a lot of old games, the multiplayer bit relies on either parts of direct X called "Direct Play" which no longer exist, or servers etc that are no longer there.

Check out a program called "Game ranger" it supports these games and will allow you to use multiplayer. I used to use it for Age of empires 2 etc.
