Well I'm an idiot, this is what I did: when I put the thermal paste on the cpu I used the whole tube, spread it around with my finger then I put the cpu cooler on. I've been doing this everytime I put thermal paste on a cpu and I didn't even remove the old thermal paste from the heatsink!
I been looking up "how to apply thermal paste properly" tutorials on youtube and they are confusing. There alot of different methods to apply thermal paste and I dont know which is the best one. There the "X" method, the pea size method and the credit card spreading method. Which one should I use?
